As the Sun begins to shine a little brighter each day, all that I am reminded of is holidaying. Sicily, îl de Re, Paris, Bali – ah the good times. That being said, the only way I am going to get close to being able to express this need and desire to be anywhere but here right now is through fashion. In particularly, the printed co-ord.
What do you think of when you think printed co-ord? Brunch on Brentwood’s high-street, cocktails in Mayfair, PJ’s?! I’ll admit, this has been my exact thought for at least 2.5 years when thinking of co-ords. They made their full time entry into the categories department of the online shopping world a few years back, and only now, it is a go to categorised search of mine. ‘Whats changed’ you ask, well quite frankly its the need to feel like I am constantly holidaying.
This is where emotive dressing works to its advantage with me. The days I am missing flowy, silky, high fashion, pretty prints are the days I want to be able to throw on a co-ord set, pour a glass of rosé (at decent o’clock that is) and float through my day as if I am about to board my flight to St. Tropez. Does the feeling of needing to be on holiday ever really go away? Maybe not, but maybe just maybe, a gorgeous wearable set is something that will help me feel a little better about it right now.
It’s so important to shop a set which isn’t seasonal and can be carried through the months to come to promote longevity. Courageous, fun prints that truly compliment your wardrobe and style can really go a long way. In this instance, I chose a softish animal print (which I personally love to incorporate into my wardrobe every now and again), which consists of a oversized silky shirt and wide leg trouser. This is so versatile and in so many ways which I adore and mean when I say promoting longevity. Lazy days in this set will look like joggers combined with the silk shirt, not so lazy days will look like the trousers fitted with a black body and an oversized wool blazer smothered in oversized gold Jewells. Finding that set which fits somewhere between risqué and authentically you can sometimes feel like trying to find a diamond in a gold mine and inspiration sometimes feels like its pretty out of reach, but I have collated some great finds below to kick start a refresh in styling and helping you to feel that holiday at home for now holiday feeling
