Friday Finds: House of Bruar

House of Bruar is my pick for this weeks’ Friday Finds post. This store does not fail to deliver on quality, style and craftsmanship in every single area of their designs. If I would of known that during our drive through the absolute stunning Scottish landscapes while on our way to the Isle of Skye last year, that we would of passed one of their incredibly located show rooms, I would of found a way to make a very long stop to explore the store in person.

Below I have picked out my favourite finds of the week and styled them up in a way that I would wear them.

Black cardigan, Suede skirt, Suede jacket, Silk scarf, Black dress, Black loafers, Black saddle bag, Earrings

Style tip: Use a cardigan with beautiful detailing to throw over your shoulders, and wear the suede jacket closed up as the main feature of a two piece outfit. As the jacket is so versatile, it can easily be worn without the skirt. This can be worn over the shoulders of a balloon sleeved knit dress and finished off with a silk scarf just to add some more dimension to the look. Opt for a simple, classic and timeless black loafer to tie the entire look together seamlessly.

Brown loafers, Silk scarf, Suede jacket, Coffee coloured polo neck, Olive coloured polo neck, Checked fringe skirt, Plaid trousers, Tweed trousers, Oak collared cardigan

Style tip: Mix up classic country colours, textures and patterns in a way that suits you best. This suede jacket and fringe skirt have been on my wish list for months now, and I have a ton of ways that I’d style up both of these opposite textured items. It makes a look more interesting and more personalised when there is a clear and thought about play-around with similar colours but different textures. You can also swap out a flat loafer with a heeled ankle boot for any of these looks to make it feel even more put together.

Knitted dress, Black bag, Black long boots , Pearl earrings, Brown boots, Tan dress, Checked jacket, Gold earrings, Neck scarf

Style tip: Keep it simple when it comes to styling a knitted dress. To create an effortless look, focus on layering up on accessories rather than clothing to complete your look. When going for a quintessentially British look, pattern clashing is your go to, but to keep your outfit looking put together focus on strong focal points like a checked tailored jacket and a structured leather boot.
