Unveiling My 2024 Accessories Wishlist: Elevate Your Wardrobe with Handpicked Gems

Accessories in all their forms play a huge part in my wardrobe, more than I have actually ever been able to admit. I’m not even really sure as to why that is though, am I the only one who has lived a past life of being an accessories denier? Now that I am in my era of just being bloody honest with myself, about myself, and definitely about my wardrobe, I have no problem admitting that they do play such a big part in my trendy outfit planning and help me come up with better, “Pinterest aesthetic” outfit ideas.

2024 Jewellery trends and brands

In the past few years, it really feels like accessories have been on their absolute ‘A’ game in every aspect. There are more jewellery brands out there now that offer high-quality staple pieces at very reasonable prices, such as Monica Verdiear, Ottoman Hands and Abbott Lyon. There are brands such as 79hour that give you all the elevated minimalist must-haves in timeless, modern classic designs, a brand which also has a cute brand story and a very simple, yet creative back story to their name. When I want to tap into maximalist jewellery styling I  really only ever need to look no further than APM Monaco, as they know what they are doing with their designs that fuse together femininity, girlhood, and all the sparkle that I crave.

2024 handbag trends and goals

When it comes to bags, we have all seen that Loewe’s Puzzle bag, Bottega Veneta’s mini Jodie bag, and the Gucci Jackie 1961 bag have all had a cult following within the fashion girl community on YouTube, Instagram, and even Facebook for a good few years now. I’m sure that we have seen some of our absolute fave style and fashion influencers wear at least one of these bags on our explore pages, and maybe even had at least one (or all 3 admittedly) sat on a Wishlist on Matches, Net-a-Porter, or Selfridges website. High-end luxury bags have always been an aspirational purchase for many people for a very long time. However one thing that I have noticed within myself, amongst my peers, and also online, is that purchasing a high-end luxury bag is more of an aspirational purchase, rather than a wardrobe priority. This could be for many reasons really. Just some of these reasons could be: We have been in a cost-of-living crisis for a little while now, people are becoming more conscious and more informed on ethical best-practices of high-end brands, trends are rotating at a higher rate than they ever have been over the past decade, and people seek more joy and hold more value in purchasing vintage. Furthermore, one common reason that I connect with the most is that there are simply just so many bag brands out there that now they focus heavily on intricate purposeful design, durability and craftsmanship which means that we have more options for good quality at an obtainable, “don’t-kill-the-bank” price-point.

So, speaking of bags, I wanted to do a simple edit on the bags that are on my 2024 Wishlist and brands that have been on my radar for a while. I want to share with you why I’ve made these 2024 handbag choices, how and when I’d wear them, and what I like about the chosen handbag brands too.

The 2024 handbag edit

Aspinal of London Mayfair Bag – I now own this bag but thought it still deserved a mention as it is a timeless beauty which is loved by Kate Middleton herself. Easy to dress up or down and I use it for any occasion.

Polene Numéro Neuf Mini and Numéro Neuf – These two bags are *chefs Kiss*. I’d want them both in size medium and small. I don’t usually go for white bags but this is the perfect size to finish off a cute evening fit.

DeMellier The Midi New York and The Nano Montreal – This is a brand that has been trending on socials for a while now and although I don’t usually go for trendy bags, this brand knows how to encapsulate timelessness in a chic way. I’ve always needed a good “throw it all in” kinda bag and more so now that I have transitioned into motherhood. This is the bag just for that.

Vivienne Westwood Kelly Small bagNow this is the bag that would exclusively be worn for cute dinners, drinks with the girls and date night only. I love a mini not very particle bag and don’t own many at all. A heritage brand enriched with history and attitude is the only kind of brand that can set the tone for these kind of outfits.

Dragon Diffusion JAPAN TOTE W/ WOVEN HANDLES – What need I say about this brand that you don’t already know? Every bag they design and in every colour is just stunning. The orange Japan tote gets me excited for summer and would make for the best spring/summer outfit bag.

Little iffier SPROUT TOTE MINI – This cute little Scandinavian brand makes the most stylish practical bags. This would be a bag that I’d style with easy, classic outfits and would be one that I’d pull so easily as it has a sense of timelessness that works with my entire wardrobe.

cala jade NAMI Ebony Suede bag – Another Scandi brand, born in Oslo to be specific, has created this lovely bag which I’d wear with both black and white linens in the summer.

Muuñ George woven basket bag – And speaking of summer, he is the basket bag of dreams. This is the bag that looks unique, is full of personality and is the definition of a modern classic.

The White Company Pembroke Knot Suede Cross Body Bag – You can see a theme here, right? Clearly I have a thing for suede. There’s something about a simple designed, clean, timeless suede bag that just gets me. This one reminds me of another one I’ve seen on the market but the knot detail on the side just gives this bag a lot more personality than any others that I have seen.

Ralph Lauren Leather Small Kassie Convertible BagRed has always been one of my favourite colours and finally I have found a little red bag that would allow me to add a pop of colour to a monochromatic outfit. This bag is simple, timeless and practical enough to be worn from day to night.
